Data Sovereignty & Privacy
Your Flow Data. On Your Infrastructure.
LogicMonitor is built as a cloud-first SaaS platform. When you use LogicMonitor’s NetFlow monitoring, your flow records — containing source and destination IP addresses, ports, protocols, and traffic volumes — are transmitted to and stored in LogicMonitor’s cloud infrastructure. For many organizations this is an acceptable operational model, but it raises real questions in regulated industries, government environments, and organizations with strict data sovereignty requirements.
NFA is installed on servers you own and operate. Every flow record is collected by your on-premises NFA instance, stored in your local database, and never transmitted to any third-party infrastructure. You control the data, the storage, the retention policy, and access.
This on-premises model is a key reason why ISPs, carriers, financial services firms, healthcare organizations, and government agencies choose NFA — not just for the flow analysis capability, but for the certainty that their traffic intelligence data stays within their own network perimeter.
- Installs on your own Linux server
- Flow data collected, processed & stored locally
- Zero data transmitted to any external cloud
- You set retention policies and storage limits
- No outbound internet dependency for flow analysis
- Ideal for regulated industries & data-sovereign environments
- Fully cloud-hosted — no on-premises option
- All monitoring data transmitted to LogicMonitor’s cloud
- Data residency governed by LogicMonitor’s infrastructure & policy
- Collector agents deployed on-premises to send data to cloud
- Excellent for organizations comfortable with cloud-based observability
- Global infrastructure with strong SaaS reliability track record
Scale Without Adding Cost
No Per-Device Fees. No Per-User Charges. Ever.
NFA’s pricing is based solely on flows per second — the volume of traffic your network generates, not the number of individual devices exporting it. You can monitor every router, switch, and firewall in your entire organization, give every team member their own NFA login, and build as many site-specific dashboards as you need — none of it changes your price tier. Your bill changes only if your overall traffic volume moves above the 10,000 FPS threshold.
Multi-Protocol · Multi-Vendor
Deeper Flow Intelligence Than a General Platform Provides.
NFA brings deeper protocol support and flow-specific analytics that a general observability platform typically doesn’t prioritize. Beyond NetFlow, IPFIX, and sFlow, NFA natively supports Juniper J-Flow and Huawei NetStream. Its optional BGP integration, correlating every flow record with live BGP routing table data, enables AS_PATH-level traffic analysis, which isn’t available in LogicMonitor.
NFA can establish BGP sessions with your routers to receive live routing table data. Every flow record is then annotated with AS_PATH, origin AS, and next-hop information, enabling peering utilization analysis and routing optimization.
