The Intelligent Routing Platform actively probes remote prefixes for metrics such as packet loss, latency, throughput, historical reliability, and maximum peer capacity. Based on these actively gathered metrics, IRP computes a performance-based BGP route optimization. The platform then announces the improved route to the network`s edge routers via a typical BGP session.
Inbound BGP Routing Optimization
The Inbound Optimization feature allows automated shaping of ingress traffic based on a set of predefined user-specific rules, the proprietary loss & latency metrics identification algorithm, and the use of providers’ traffic engineering (TE) capabilities.
Optimization based on Performance & Cost
Generate massive cost savings by intelligently leveraging inexpensive transit providers whenever possible, and the higher-priced ones only as necessary, to meet your performance standards. In a cost-optimization mode, ISP links are prioritized unequally based on their relative costs to each other. IRP determines the winner in real-time and moves traffic to an alternate ISP link only when such ISP link has a better cost/performance ratio.
