Meet Noction IRP v4.2.8 – Smarter Routing, Deeper Insights, Tighter Control.

The new IRP v4.2.8 is here, packed with exciting features and improvements. From enhanced performance reporting to more flexible troubleshooting, this release is all about making networks smarter, faster, and more efficient. Here’s a quick look at what’s new!

Probing Advancements and Increased Security

We’ve made significant strides in network probing and security. The TCP probing feature now captures and utilizes port data used during communication, allowing for deeper insights into network behavior. Troubleshooting has been extended to support probing via the default route, making it more flexible and effective. On the security front, we’ve added TACACS support and introduced email authentication features to secure SMTP communication for push notifications. These enhancements ensure both smoother network management and improved security.

Enhanced Performance Reporting and Troubleshooting

This release brings significant improvements to performance monitoring and troubleshooting. Circuit Issue events have been enhanced to include the number of affected prefixes, providing more detailed insights during network incidents. Additionally, the Performance Improvements per ASNs report has been upgraded with a unified filter that combines AS number and name searches into a single, more efficient endpoint. Visual and functional upgrades to the performance graph make it even easier to analyze data and spot trends at a glance.

Other notable improvements:

  • Compatibility with Debian 12 is now supported, ensuring the platform works smoothly with the latest operating systems.
  • Support for the DELLEMC-OS10-BGP4V2-MIB has been added to the Internal Monitor.
  • A time delay has been introduced between Circuit Issue inbound prepends and BGP session shutdown, ensuring more reliable prepend propagation.
  • The bgpd.transit.communities parameter allows for specifying BGP communities for Inbound Transit improvements, offering more precise traffic management.
  • New core parameters allow you to disable Outbound Performance operations while keeping Commit Control active, and enable Commit Control optimization even if prefix probing fails.
  • The explorer.probe.indirect_priority parameter now offers more control over indirect probing, allowing you to disable it while keeping tracing functionality.
